25 years ago, I made a commitment to become a state champion and get straight A’s throughout high school. I didn’t accomplish either, but I gave everything in their pursuit.
A few years later, when the last bell rang and I walked off the high school wrestling mat for the last time, I made another commitment: I would become an All-American and get straight A’s in college. I fell short of those two goals, too, but, again, I gave my all in their pursuit.
A few years later, I set perhaps the most audacious goal of my life: I would become a UFC fighter and win the UFC belt. I had no right to make such an audacious goal; there were no reasons to believe it could be done.
I accomplished one of those goals, but fell short of the other.
To some, this is the story of a loser, someone who falls short of their goals. But to me, this is the story of perseverance and resilience, and I am passionate about sharing that story with you. I am passionate about teaching you the mindset that has stood by my side through all of the successes and setbacks I have endured in the past 25 years. I live with A Fighter’s Mindset, and you can too. The best part? You don’t have to step in the cage to do so.
