After a nice week of relaxation, I’m back to training again. I don’t like to take too much time off for a few reasons. One, I’m new to the sport, and I’ve got plenty to learn. And secondly, I don’t like my body to get too out of shape. My thought is that if you keep yourself in great shape consistently, it’s more likely you’ll sustain your shape even as you get older. At this point, I’m going to spend a good bit of time in classes (gi and no gi), as well as continue to work on my striking technique. I’ll also be sure to spar twice a week in the event I get called up on short notice. Strength and conditioning also resumed this week. Physically, I felt great during my last fight, so I think we’ve developed a system that will stick.
