By Douglas Preston
My quick notes: I came across this book by way of “The Devil in the White City.” They have a similar feel: travel, mystery, intrigue, wonder, adventure. Author Douglas Preston takes us on a ride to South America to uncover a lost city in Honduras. As a former Spanish teacher who loves travel, I was both interested in the history and adventure of this book. It’s the kind of thing I love to read about but don’t necessarily want to partake in (I can do without the snakes, bugs, wild jungle animals, etc.). For a great piece of history and wonder, this book delivers.
