Here’s the deal. It’s one of two things:
- Believe you CANNOT do it, and it’s a 100% guarantee that you WILL NOT do it.
- Believe you CAN do it, and not matter how small or minute, there is always a chance that you WILL do it.
I talked myself into losing two state championships in high school wrestling. I didn’t truly believe I could win.
Years later, I talked myself into securing a UFC contract.
There was no luck involved in either situation. It was math.
What Tom Brady did last night reinforced that math. It was his winning mindset and mental toughness that enabled him to win. Without it, there is ZERO chance the Patriots would’ve come back from a 25 point deficit.
Brady’s winning mindset doesn’t secure a victory every time out (as evidenced by his losses), but it DOES create a chance, though sometimes the slightest chance, it’s still a chance (“So you’re saying there’s a chance?!”).
Whether you believe you can or you can’t, nothing actually changes…except the possibility of EVERYTHING.
Believe you can.
